Description
PPP2CB encodes the beta isoform of the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), one of the four major serine/threonine phosphatases. PP2A is a heterotrimeric holoenzyme composed of a structural A subunit, a regulatory B subunit, and a catalytic C subunit. The catalytic subunit encoded by PPP2CB is responsible for dephosphorylating key cellular substrates, thereby regulating cell cycle progression, DNA replication, transcription, apoptosis, and signal transduction pathways such as Wnt, PI3K/AKT, and MAPK.
