Drug Transporters
Study drug uptake and efflux transporters (SLC and ABC families), their substrate specificity, drug–drug interactions and pharmacokinetics using CRISPR-engineered cell models.
What is Drug Transporters ?
Drug transporters are membrane proteins that mediate the influx and efflux of drugs, metabolites and endogenous compounds across cellular barriers. Major families include SLC (e.g., OATP, OCT) and ABC (e.g., P-gp, BCRP). They govern drug absorption, distribution and elimination, and are key mediators of drug–drug interactions and multidrug resistance.
