What is Viral Entry & Replication ?
Viruses enter host cells through specific receptor interactions and membrane fusion, then hijack cellular machinery to replicate their genome. CRISPR loss-of-function and gain-of-function screens identify critical host factors (entry receptors, proteases, trafficking proteins) and restriction factors. This knowledge informs antiviral drug development and pandemic preparedness.
