What is Innate Immune Response ?
The innate immune response provides the first line of defense against pathogens and tissue damage. It relies on germline-encoded pattern recognition receptors that detect PAMPs and DAMPs, triggering pathways like NF-κB, IRF and inflammasome activation. Innate immunity also instructs the adaptive response and is targeted by adjuvants and immunotherapies.
