What is Oxidative Stress Response ?
The oxidative stress response is the cellular reaction to excess reactive oxygen species that damage lipids, proteins and DNA. It involves upregulation of antioxidants via NRF2/KEAP1 signaling, glutathione synthesis and thioredoxin systems. This response is crucial in aging, neurodegeneration and cancer, where NRF2 can act as either protector or oncogenic driver.
