What is Cell Death (Apoptosis, Necroptosis, Ferroptosis) ?
Regulated cell death encompasses multiple genetically encoded pathways: apoptosis (caspase-dependent), necroptosis (RIPK3/MLKL-mediated lysis) and ferroptosis (iron-dependent lipid peroxidation). These pathways play critical roles in development, immunity and disease. Defects in cell death drive cancer and autoimmunity, while excessive activation contributes to neurodegeneration and ischemia-reperfusion injury.
