Description
ZNF568 encodes a zinc finger protein of the Krüppel-associated box (KRAB) subfamily. KRAB-ZFPs are transcriptional repressors that recruit chromatin-modifying complexes to regulate gene expression during development and cellular differentiation. ZNF568 is located on chromosome 19q13.43 and is expressed in multiple tissues, with highest levels in testis and brain.

Protein Summary
ZNF568 is a 649-amino acid protein containing a KRAB domain at the N-terminus and multiple C2H2-type zinc finger motifs. It is predicted to localize to the nucleus and function as a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription repressor. The protein is conserved in primates and rodents, suggesting a role in mammalian gene regulation.
