Description

TGOLN2 encodes a type I membrane protein localized to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). It is involved in vesicular trafficking, protein sorting, and maintenance of Golgi structure. The protein cycles between the TGN and the plasma membrane, functioning in endosome-to-TGN retrograde transport.

Protein Summary

TGOLN2 is a 46 kDa transmembrane protein predominantly localized to the trans-Golgi network. It contains a luminal domain, a transmembrane domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail with sorting motifs. The protein cycles between the TGN and the plasma membrane, participating in retrograde transport from endosomes to the TGN.
