Description

TAS1R1 (Taste 1 Receptor Member 1) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) which, when heterodimerized with TAS1R3, functions as the umami taste receptor. This receptor is activated by L-glutamate and other amino acids, playing a critical role in dietary protein sensing and metabolic signaling.
