Description
PTPRO encodes a member of the R3 subfamily of receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatases. The protein is a transmembrane phosphatase involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, and oncogenic signaling. It is predominantly expressed in epithelial cells and B lymphocytes, where it modulates B-cell receptor signaling and acts as a tumor suppressor in several cancers.
