Description

PPP1R12B encodes the myosin phosphatase targeting subunit 2 (MYPT2), a regulatory component of myosin light chain phosphatase (MLCP). MLCP dephosphorylates myosin light chain, thereby inhibiting smooth muscle contraction. PPP1R12B is involved in regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics, cell migration, and proliferation. It is expressed in various tissues, with high levels in heart and skeletal muscle.
