Description
The PHGDH gene encodes phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase, the first and rate-limiting enzyme in the phosphorylated pathway of L-serine biosynthesis. This enzyme catalyzes the conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate to 3-phosphohydroxypyruvate using NAD+/NADH as a cofactor.
