Description

PEA15 (Phosphoprotein Enriched in Astrocytes 15) encodes a 15 kDa death effector domain (DED)-containing protein that regulates apoptosis, glucose transport, and cell cycle progression. It is widely expressed, with highest levels in brain astrocytes. The protein interacts with FADD and caspase-8 to inhibit death receptor-mediated apoptosis, and also modulates ERK/MAPK signaling and GLUT4 translocation.

Protein Summary

PEA15 is a 130-amino acid protein containing a death effector domain (DED) that mediates interactions with FADD and caspase-8, inhibiting extrinsic apoptosis.
