Description

PATJ (PALS1-associated tight junction protein) encodes a scaffold protein that localizes to tight junctions and is a component of the Crumbs (CRB) cell polarity complex. It plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining apical-basal polarity in epithelial cells, as well as in regulating cell proliferation and migration. The protein contains multiple PDZ domains that mediate interactions with other polarity proteins such as PALS1 and CRB3.
