Protein Summary

PARP16 is a 322-amino acid mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase localized to the cytoplasm and nucleus. It catalyzes the transfer of ADP-ribose from NAD+ to target proteins, modulating their activity. PARP16 is implicated in the unfolded protein response (UPR) by modifying components of the endoplasmic reticulum stress pathway. Its expression is highest in testis and thyroid, with moderate levels in adrenal gland. Mutations in PARP16 are rare and of unknown clinical significance.
