Description
NCCRP1 encodes a type I transmembrane protein that functions as a receptor on non-specific cytotoxic cells (NCC), a subset of natural killer (NK) cells. It mediates target cell recognition and lysis through binding to an unknown ligand on tumor cells and virus-infected cells. The protein contains a single extracellular immunoglobulin-like domain and a short cytoplasmic tail with signaling motifs. NCCRP1 is involved in innate immune responses and has been implicated in cancer immunosurveillance and infectious disease control.
