Description
NAA16 encodes a regulatory subunit of the N-terminal acetyltransferase A (NatA) complex. The NatA complex catalyzes co-translational acetylation of nascent polypeptides after removal of the initiator methionine. NAA16 is an auxiliary subunit that modulates substrate specificity and complex stability. It is ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in testis and brain.
