Description

MARK2 (microtubule affinity regulating kinase 2) encodes a serine/threonine kinase that phosphorylates microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs) such as tau and MAP2, regulating microtubule stability and cell polarity. It is a member of the PAR-1 family and plays critical roles in cell cycle progression, neuronal differentiation, and epithelial polarity.
