Description

LRRC8E encodes a member of the leucine-rich repeat-containing 8 (LRRC8) family, which forms essential components of the volume-regulated anion channel (VRAC). VRAC is activated by cell swelling and mediates chloride and organic osmolyte efflux, playing a critical role in regulatory volume decrease.
