Description
LOXL4 encodes a member of the lysyl oxidase family of copper-dependent amine oxidases. These enzymes catalyze the cross-linking of collagen and elastin in the extracellular matrix, playing a critical role in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and fibrosis. LOXL4 is also implicated in tumor progression and metastasis in various cancers.
