Description

KHDRBS3 (KH Domain Containing, RNA Binding, Signal Transduction Associated 3) encodes a member of the SAM68 (KHDRBS1) family of RNA-binding proteins. The protein contains a KH domain that mediates RNA binding and is involved in alternative splicing regulation, RNA metabolism, and signal transduction. KHDRBS3 is predominantly expressed in the brain and testis and has been implicated in neuronal development and spermatogenesis.

Protein Summary

KHDRBS3 is a 346-amino-acid RNA-binding protein containing a single KH domain. It shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm and regulates alternative splicing of pre-mRNAs. The protein is highly expressed in brain and testis, where it plays roles in neuronal differentiation and spermatogenesis. KHDRBS3 interacts with Src family kinases and may modulate signal transduction pathways.
