IL3 (Interleukin 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5q31.1. It encodes a cytokine that regulates hematopoiesis by stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of multipotent hematopoietic stem cells and various progenitor cells, including granulocytes, macrophages, mast cells, and erythroid cells.
