Description
HOMER3 encodes a member of the Homer family of scaffold proteins that regulate metabotropic glutamate receptor signaling and intracellular calcium dynamics. The protein contains an N-terminal Ena/VASP homology 1 (EVH1) domain that binds proline-rich motifs and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain mediating oligomerization. HOMER3 is involved in synaptic plasticity, immune cell activation, and cancer cell migration.

Protein Summary
HOMER3 is a 361-amino acid scaffold protein (UniProt Q9NSC5) that forms homo- and hetero-oligomers with other Homer proteins. It links metabotropic glutamate receptors to intracellular calcium stores and modulates signaling complexes in neurons and immune cells. The protein is expressed in multiple tissues and is implicated in cancer progression.
