Description

The ENPP2 gene encodes autotaxin (ATX), a secreted glycoprotein that functions as a lysophospholipase D. It catalyzes the conversion of lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC) to lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), a potent lipid mediator involved in cell proliferation, migration, and survival.
