Description
DUSP15 (dual specificity phosphatase 15) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a member of the dual-specificity phosphatase (DUSP) family. The encoded protein dephosphorylates phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine/phosphothreonine residues, and is involved in regulating MAPK signaling pathways. DUSP15 is expressed in multiple tissues, with highest levels in testis and brain. It has been implicated in neurodevelopmental processes and certain cancers.

Protein Summary
DUSP15 encodes a 185-amino acid dual-specificity phosphatase with a conserved catalytic domain. It dephosphorylates both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine/phosphothreonine residues, preferentially targeting MAP kinases such as ERK. The protein is localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus, and is involved in negative regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. Its expression is enriched in testis and brain, suggesting roles in spermatogenesis and neurodevelopment.
