Description

CYSLTR2 encodes the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 2, a G protein-coupled receptor that binds cysteinyl leukotrienes (LTC4, LTD4, LTE4). It is involved in inflammatory responses, smooth muscle contraction, and vascular permeability. Activating mutations in CYSLTR2 are associated with uveal melanoma.

Protein Summary

CYSLTR2 is a 346-amino acid G protein-coupled receptor with seven transmembrane domains. It preferentially couples to Gq/11 proteins, leading to phospholipase C activation, calcium release, and PKC signaling. The receptor is a therapeutic target for asthma and allergic diseases.
