Description

CTSG encodes cathepsin G, a serine protease stored in the azurophil granules of neutrophils. It plays a key role in microbial killing, inflammation, and tissue remodeling by cleaving extracellular matrix components and activating cytokines. The enzyme also modulates platelet activation and chemotaxis.
