Description
CHST4 encodes a Golgi membrane sulfotransferase that catalyzes the transfer of sulfate to N-acetylglucosamine residues on glycoproteins. This sulfation is critical for the biosynthesis of L-selectin ligands on high endothelial venules, enabling lymphocyte homing to lymph nodes. The enzyme is also implicated in tumor progression and metastasis.
