Description
CD163L1 (CD163 molecule-like 1) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily. The encoded protein is a type I transmembrane protein expressed primarily in macrophages and dendritic cells. It functions as a receptor for bacteria and may play a role in the innate immune response. CD163L1 is also known as M160 and is closely related to CD163.

Protein Summary
The CD163L1 protein (M160) is a 130 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein containing 12 scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domains. It is expressed on the surface of macrophages and dendritic cells. The protein binds to bacteria and facilitates their uptake, contributing to host defense. It also participates in the clearance of hemoglobin-haptoglobin complexes, similar to CD163.
