Description
CCNA2 (Cyclin A2) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a member of the cyclin family, specifically cyclin A2. This protein is essential for cell cycle control, binding and activating cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) and CDK1 to drive progression through the G1/S and G2/M transitions. CCNA2 is frequently overexpressed in various cancers and is associated with poor prognosis.
