Description

CCL19 (C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 19) is a chemokine gene located on chromosome 9p13.3. It encodes a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. CCL19 is primarily expressed in lymphoid tissues and acts as a ligand for the chemokine receptor CCR7. It plays a critical role in the homing of naive T cells, B cells, and dendritic cells to secondary lymphoid organs, as well as in lymphoid organogenesis and immune surveillance.
