Description
CCL18 (C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 18) is a chemokine gene located on chromosome 17q12. It encodes a secreted protein that belongs to the CC chemokine family. CCL18 is primarily expressed by antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells and macrophages. It plays a role in immune cell trafficking, particularly attracting naive T cells, B cells, and eosinophils. CCL18 is implicated in fibrotic diseases, allergic inflammation, and tumor progression, where it can promote angiogenesis and immune evasion.
