Description

The CCKAR gene encodes the cholecystokinin A receptor, a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that binds cholecystokinin (CCK) and gastrin with high affinity. It is primarily expressed in the gastrointestinal tract and central nervous system, mediating gallbladder contraction, pancreatic enzyme secretion, gastric emptying, and satiety signaling.
