Description
BCL2L15 (BCL2 like 15) is a protein-coding gene that encodes a pro-apoptotic member of the BCL2 family. The protein contains a BH3 domain and promotes apoptosis by interacting with anti-apoptotic BCL2 family members. It is involved in the regulation of programmed cell death and has been implicated in cancer and other diseases.

Protein Summary
BCL2L15 encodes a 163-amino acid protein (UniProt Q5TBC7) containing a BH3 domain. It localizes to the cytoplasm and promotes apoptosis by binding and inhibiting anti-apoptotic BCL2 family members such as BCL2 and BCL-XL. The protein is expressed at low levels in lymphoid tissues and is downregulated in several cancers.
