Description

ADM2 (adrenomedullin 2), also known as intermedin, is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22q13.33. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate a mature peptide hormone that belongs to the calcitonin/calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) family. ADM2 acts through the calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CALCRL) in complex with receptor activity-modifying proteins (RAMPs) to regulate vasodilation, cardiac function, and energy homeostasis.
