What is JAK-STAT Signaling ?
The JAK-STAT pathway transmits signals from cytokine and growth factor receptors directly to the nucleus. Ligand binding activates JAKs, which phosphorylate STATs, leading to their dimerization and transcriptional activity. Aberrant JAK-STAT signaling drives myeloproliferative neoplasms, autoimmune diseases and inflammation. JAK inhibitors are effective in these conditions.
