What is TGF-β Signaling ?
Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) signaling regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, migration and immune suppression. It signals through serine/threonine kinase receptors and SMAD transcription factors. TGF-β has dual roles in cancer—tumor suppressive in early stages but pro-metastatic later—and drives fibrosis across organs.
