What is Macrophage & Myeloid Biology ?
Macrophages are versatile innate immune cells that adopt diverse functional phenotypes, from pro-inflammatory (M1) to anti-inflammatory/tissue repair (M2). They contribute to host defense, tissue homeostasis and disease pathogenesis including cancer, atherosclerosis and fibrosis. CRISPR tools enable dissection of the genetic circuits controlling myeloid identity and function.
