What is Innate Immunity & Pattern Recognition ?
Innate immunity is the first line of defense, relying on pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) that detect pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and danger-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). These sensors activate inflammatory and interferon responses. CRISPR screening of PRR pathways reveals host defense mechanisms and therapeutic targets for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
