What is Transcription ?
Transcription is the first step of gene expression, in which DNA is copied into RNA by RNA polymerases. It is regulated by transcription factors, co-regulators and the epigenetic landscape. Dysregulated transcription is a hallmark of many diseases; transcription factors, CDK9 and BRD4 are therapeutic targets in cancer. CRISPR tools enable dissection of enhancer function and gene regulation.
