What is Microtubules ?
Microtubules are polar cytoskeletal filaments composed of α/β-tubulin heterodimers. They form the mitotic spindle, serve as tracks for intracellular transport and provide structural support. Dynamic instability and tubulin PTMs regulate their functions. They are targets of anti-cancer drugs (taxanes, vinca alkaloids) and defects cause neurodevelopmental and ciliary disorders.
