Overview
Heart Failure & Remodeling
Study cardiac remodeling, hypertrophic signaling, fibrosis and heart failure progression using CRISPR-engineered cardiomyocyte and animal models.
What is Heart Failure & Remodeling ?
Heart failure is a clinical syndrome in which the heart cannot pump sufficient blood to meet the body's needs, often preceded by adverse cardiac remodeling involving cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, apoptosis and interstitial fibrosis. Molecular pathways such as calcineurin-NFAT, β-adrenergic and MAPK signaling drive remodeling, representing therapeutic targets for heart failure.
