Description
SCAMP4 encodes secretory carrier membrane protein 4, a member of the SCAMP family involved in vesicular trafficking and membrane transport. SCAMP4 is localized to recycling endosomes and the plasma membrane, playing a role in endocytosis and exocytosis. It is ubiquitously expressed with highest levels in the brain, kidney, and testis.

Protein Summary
SCAMP4 is a 25 kDa transmembrane protein with four predicted transmembrane domains. It localizes to recycling endosomes and the plasma membrane, where it facilitates vesicle docking and fusion. The protein contains a conserved SCAMP domain and is involved in endocytic recycling and exocytosis.
