Description

SCAMP1 encodes a member of the secretory carrier membrane protein family, which are integral membrane proteins involved in vesicular trafficking and exocytosis. SCAMP1 is ubiquitously expressed and functions in recycling endosomes and post-Golgi transport.

Protein Summary

SCAMP1 is a 338-amino acid integral membrane protein with four transmembrane domains. It localizes to recycling endosomes and the plasma membrane, facilitating vesicle docking and fusion. It is widely expressed and plays a role in exocytosis and endocytic recycling.
