Description

RASSF2 is a tumor suppressor gene encoding a protein that contains a Ras association domain. It is involved in Ras-dependent signaling pathways, promoting apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Loss of RASSF2 expression due to promoter hypermethylation is frequently observed in various cancers.

Protein Summary

RASSF2 is a 326-amino acid protein containing a Ras association domain at the C-terminus. It interacts with Ras family GTPases and promotes apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. The protein is localized to the cytoplasm and nucleus, and its expression is frequently lost in cancers due to promoter hypermethylation.
