Description

The PDK4 gene encodes pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4, a mitochondrial enzyme that phosphorylates and inhibits the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDC), thereby regulating glucose metabolism and promoting fatty acid oxidation.
