Description

GRAP (GRB2-related adaptor protein) encodes a member of the GRB2 family of adaptor proteins. This protein contains an SH2 domain and two SH3 domains, and functions in signal transduction pathways by linking receptor tyrosine kinases to downstream effectors. GRAP is involved in immune cell signaling, particularly in T-cell and B-cell activation.

Protein Summary

The GRAP protein is a 217-amino acid adaptor protein with a molecular weight of approximately 24 kDa. It contains one SH2 domain and two SH3 domains, enabling it to bind phosphotyrosine motifs and proline-rich sequences. GRAP is primarily expressed in hematopoietic tissues and plays a role in coupling receptor signaling to the Ras-MAPK pathway.
