Description

ACKR3 (Atypical Chemokine Receptor 3), also known as CXCR7, is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds chemokines such as CXCL12 (SDF-1) and CXCL11. Unlike typical chemokine receptors, ACKR3 does not signal through G proteins but acts as a scavenger receptor, modulating chemokine gradients and regulating cell migration, adhesion, and survival. It is widely expressed in embryonic and adult tissues, including the brain, heart, kidney, and immune cells. ACKR3 is implicated in cancer progression, angiogenesis, and inflammatory diseases.
