Description

ABCF2 encodes a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. Unlike classical ABC transporters, ABCF2 lacks transmembrane domains and is localized to the cytoplasm and nucleus. It functions as a translational regulator by interacting with eukaryotic initiation factor 2 (eIF2) and ribosomes, and is implicated in cellular stress responses, including the unfolded protein response (UPR).
