What is Nuclear Receptors (Drug Sensing) ?
Xenobiotic-sensing nuclear receptors, including PXR (NR1I2), CAR (NR1I3) and AhR, function as ligand-activated transcription factors that regulate expression of drug-metabolizing enzymes and transporters. They mediate drug–drug interactions and hepatotoxicity. CRISPR knockout models allow precise characterization of receptor-specific gene networks.
